434 V8 Powered 1984 Suzuki Samurai

posted in: Suzuki Samurai | 0

This 1984 Suzuki Samurai has come a long way since it had a 1.3L 4-cylinder engine. It’s now powered by a 650 horsepower Chevy 434 CID stroker V8 which equates to 7.1L. Imagine going from 63 horsepower to 650 horsepower?!

The power is fed through a Powerglide automatic transmission to a divorced NP205 transfer which splits the power to a Dana 44 front axle and Ford 9-Inch rear. The 9-inch rear uses a Mark Williams 3rd member with 35-spline axle shafts and a spool. The Dana 44 front uses heavy duty axles and a locker. The axle upgrades were necessary to handle the power going to the 19x35x15 TSL Boggers on Mickey Thompson aluminum wheels. Rancho shocks help smooth out the ride. A hydraulic steering setup helps steer those big tires.

On the inside you’ll find custom aftermarket bucket seats and a B&M Pro Stick shifter.

A custom bumper on the front is home to a massive 12k winch, and a pair of KC Hilites help light the way
